It can be truly maddening to go shopping for a swimsuit, especially if you are a teen. There are many choices, probably too many. If you are a teenage boy, then at least you only have to be concerned about a one piece swimsuit. But, of course, that is not the case for a teenage girl.Teen girls have to first make the choice about whether they should purchase a one piece or a two piece. One piece swimsuits come in a vast array of colors from solids to stripes and polka dots; any pattern is a possibility. For a teen girl it is all about looks and comfort. The leg cut of the swimsuit can be a high cut at the top of the leg to create the look of a longer leg or the regular cut to give more coverage. The top portion of the one piece needs to fit securely on a teen girl because they are more active in swimwear than most adults and a secure swimsuit means a secure teen.
When a girl decides on a two piece swimsuit, then there are quite a few more choices to consider. Most two piece swimsuits are sold together, top and bottom. The top is the same size as the bottom, but not all girls are the same size at the top and at the bottom. Look for swimsuit tops and bottoms that match, but are sold separately. There is even a possibility of finding a solid color bottom to go with a printed top or vice versa. Straps or no straps, that is the next question.Having straps that can be easily taken off is the best option. Taking the straps off for when there sunbathing is the priority and straps back on for when swimming is taking place. Adjustable straps are a great option and allows for adjusting the fit when the bathing suit top gets wet and a little less secure. Of course, the best quality for a two piece is how comfortable and confident does the purchaser feel when wearing it. This is usually not the concern of a teenage boy when looking for a swimsuit.
Teen boys also have a lot of options for choosing swim trunks or board shorts. They can pick between different colors, patterns, Velcro snap closure, a string tie, or even inner netting or not. Length is also an important decision, above the knee or below? So many decisions that some teens decide to wear the old school cutoffs. No matter the choice, a teen swimsuit needs to be chosen by the teen that is going to wear it. It should create a sense of confidence in the teenager and be comfortable for enjoying the great outdoors.
